Spotlight: Examples of Local Environmental Initiatives
Tree planting campaigns by Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories (“ELL”), Pennsylvania and Eurofins Food Testing Germany, Hamburg
Lancaster: As part of a formal land management plan for responsible maintenance of green space, 100 volunteers from the Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories site planted over 1,000 native trees on the Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories campus. The partnership with The Lancaster County Conservancy and The Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay received a grant and provides a valuable contribution to expanding the natural habitat for flora and fauna in the area. Hamburg: In a planting campaign « All Around the Bee », 1,200 plants with different flowering times were carried out across the Eurofins Food Testing Germany Hamburg campus, creating a new habitat for bees and contributing to the conservation of biodiversity. The initiative was performed in cooperation with NABU Hamburg (« Nature and Biodiversity Conservation Union »), the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the Department of Environment and Energy (BUE).
