Collaborating for a sustainable future

As a major contributor to the Agroscience and consequently, the Food sector, Eurofins Agroscience Services has entered into a number of collaborations aiming to improve agricultural practices and produce safer food, resulting in a better balance with nature. Here are some examples of our contributions.

We partner with clients working towards the registration of new and safer crop health products: greener chemicals, biopesticides and biostimulants are evaluated by our field and laboratory teams, in accordance with the stringent standards of regulatory authorities. Our integrated seed breeding solutions combine genomics, field and analytical capabilities to allow a faster varietal adaptation to help mitigate the consequences of climate change. Agtech companies rely on our field network to collect relevant agronomic data which feeds their digital models. They create smart tools that our teams test and validate in real field situations.

Several new companies, including those developing biosolutions and digital services, have taken full advantage of our integrated portfolio of technical capabilities and regulatory expertise to help speed up their development.

In addition, EAS Group is pro-actively taking part in agricultural sustainability projects, including the European Green Deal consortia, to deploy new agricultural practices. At both field and farm scale, we conduct studies to evaluate strategies focused on the better management of resources. For instance, innovative application technologies and new farming schemes which look at optimizing quantities applied at field or farm scale, in order to reduce human and environmental risks. In this context, our ecotoxicologists have developed expertise to conduct long-term biomonitoring of soil arthropods, earthworms and pollinators. They also contribute to new regulatory guidelines and to validate smart tools for biodiversity assessments. From farm to fork, our teams are able to assess the impact of better field and post-harvest practices on crop health, human and environmental safety as well as the food processing and quality properties.
