EAS experts attend annual HCPA mid-year conference
Eurofins Agroscience Services Business Development Managers Renee Hahne and Jim Schmidt attended the Household and Consumer Products Association’s mid-year conference earlier this month in Washington, D.C.
Founded in 1914, the Household and Commercial Products Association (HCPA) represents companies that combined make and sell $180 billion annually of products used for cleaning, protecting, maintaining, and disinfecting in homes and commercial environments. In 2017, HCPA members employed more than 200,000 people in the U.S.
Featuring a range of high-caliber speakers, the two-day event at the Mayflower Hotel gave Hahne and Schimdt an opportunity to interact with various working groups, hear HCPA division and committee updates, and attend special sessions on a range of topics of importance to HCPA members.
Among the speakers were U.S. EPA Acting Deputy Administrator Henry Darwin and Alexandra Dunn, head of the U.S. EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OSCPP). Darwin and Dunn outline the agency’s ongoing transformation and push to increase accountability among EPA’s employees, as well as the top strategic priorities for the OCSPP in the coming year.
In addition to educational opportunities, the HCPA conference also provided Hahne and Schmidt with an opportunity to network with representatives from a wide variety of industries, including the food and beverage, industrial chemical and household cleaning industries.
