EAS Group opens a Biosafety Level 2 Laboratory
We are pleased to announce the opening of a Biosafety Level 2 Laboratory, situated in Niefern, Germany.
Driven by client demand, this new lab allows us to further support in the registration of bio-pesticides by conducting analysis to cover the pathogens listed in the OECD issue paper on microbial contaminant limits for microbial pest control products. Our regulatory group has specific expertise in preparing regulatory dossiers for bio-rationals and can support at every step of the process.
The Biosafety lab consists of two fully equipped rooms, registered and permitted to work with microorganisms (i.e. bacteria and fungi) of risk group 2 that pose a moderate risk to personnel and the environment, including Salmonella species, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
The study types that we currently conduct are 5-batch analysis, storage stability (in collaboration with the PhysChem department) and single batch control. For these studies we analyse for contaminants and also perform the analysis for active bacterial or fungal strains, including method validation and certificate of analysis.
