Dr. Pete Coody & Dr. Martin Cole to Support EAS Hercules (USA) as Center of Testing Excellence

Eurofins Agroscience Services (EAS) is pleased to announce that Pete Coody, Ph.D., and Martin Cole, Ph.D., are collaborating in a consulting capacity with the EAS Hercules laboratory in North America to support the continued growth and development in our Environmental Fate and Metabolism testing.

Dr. Coody brings more than 35 years of industry experience in the agrochemical industry, focused on environmental safety, risk assessments and product registration. With a Ph.D. in Environmental Soil Chemistry from Purdue University, Dr. Coody most recently served as Vice President of Environmental Safety at Bayer CropScience until his retirement in 2019.

With a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Warwick, Dr. Cole has more than 40 years of experience in the agrochemical industry. In his nearly 20 years at Bayer CropScience, Dr. Cole led a group of 20-30 scientists focused on plant and animal metabolism, residue chemistry, analytical chemistry and non-dietary exposure, before stepping into the role of Human Safety Manager & Dietary Safety Expert from 2016 until his retirement in 2020.

As a center of excellence for environmental fate and metabolism testing, EAS Hercules is globally recognized for the ability to identify unknown metabolites and handle radiochemical label studies. Formerly known as PTRL West, this laboratory and its team of expert scientists has experience with outdoor and greenhouse studies in more than 20 different crops and offers a full suite of environmental fate and metabolism study types.

These two industry professionals will be supporting Tammy Hiler, General Manager of EAS Hercules, and a team of more than 25 scientists with over 400 years’ combined experience who will leverage their expertise in studying the chemical fate, transport and accumulation of compounds and degradation products in the environment.

Serving in a consultant capacity, Dr. Coody will help evaluate and advise on complex protocols and studies to help ensure regulatory acceptance, while Dr. Cole will support the scientific staff of EAS Hercules in data interpretation and reporting.
