Waiting for 2012...
We have over 80 untreated potted apple plants overwintering at our test site and are ready for terrestrial ecotox laboratory studies with aged residue studies to be started in May 2012.
Terrestrial ecotox studies with aged residues are designed to assess plant protection products (PPPs) persistence under outdoor climatic conditions. Leaves for exposure are taken from field crops or from different potted plant species sprayed outside, simulating a field application.
Residual toxicity on beneficial arthropods (e.g. Aphidius rhopalosiphi, Typhlodromus pyri, Chrysoperla carnea, etc.) is evaluated in several bioassays started at defined intervals after treatment. Studies can be linked to residual analysis performed in-house.
