Eurofins Foundation

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Eurofins’ creation in October 2017, and in addition to the donations made annually for years and €1 million given to 40 charities and NGOs on this anniversary, several leaders and team members of the Group’s companies as well as its founders decided to commit to more significant long-term philanthropy efforts.

As a result, the idea of the Eurofins Foundation was born. Its objectives have been proposed based on the existing commitments of the global Eurofins’ community: contributing to global health and safety and protecting the environment.

Eurofins Foundation's primary areas of focus include supporting initiatives aimed at:

  • Protecting the environment: protecting ecosystems in the sea and on land and conserving our planet's scarce resources for future generations
  • Improving nutrition: support projects and initiatives feeding deprived communities in developing countries, programmes aimed at decreasing food waste and facing challenges of feeding a growing world population in a sustainable manner, etc.
  • Improving health: facilitating access to clean water and sanitation, supporting research on cancer, organ transplants or addressing other significant challenges in modern healthcare;
  • Helping social, not-for-profit businesses working in the fields of environment or health protection and improved nutrition, in line with Eurofins' DNA
  • Promoting inclusion, diversity and equality at all levels of society through advocacy, education, mentorship, training and development programmes and STEM and STEAM outreach where this is contributing to a safer and healthier world
  • Supporting  students who study or carry out research in fields aiming at contributing to safer and healthier lives but who lack sufficient financial resources
  • Helping non-profit organisations active in the local communities where Eurofins’ laboratories operate and their staff live and work

The Eurofins Foundation will also encourage, support and develop a network of Doctorate or Post Doctorate researchers, students, and experts in these fields, building on each other’s practical experiences and knowledge, and that of employees and leaders of Eurofins’ companies who wish to be involved in those philanthropic actions, to support existing initiatives but also develop innovative projects, alongside the Foundation's objectives.

One or several annual prizes for achievements in those fields will be created, with a specific focus on the contribution of analytical sciences to those objectives. This can be done in partnership with international scientific organisations.

The Eurofins Foundation is committed to promoting equality and diversity, to ensure inclusive processes, practices and culture are fostered throughout all activities it carries out.

The Eurofins Foundation supports the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
