Maximize Output from Your Full-Time Employees: A PSS Case Study
Client’s Challenge
A Client in the Southeast US was falling behind on timelines and was unable to increase headcount. The Client had a mix of positions, both open and held by temporary employees. The churn and burn of using temporary employees was having a negative impact on the morale of their own full-time employees.
Our Solution
We helped the client transition their temporary staff to join Eurofins PSS Insourcing Solutions network of companies, our long-term solution offering full-time employment to these temporary resources and filled the balance of positions. PSS employs and manages full-time employees to perform a defined scope of work at the client facility. Our project-based insourcing solutions is specifically designed to give clients laboratory services support with flexible timeframes and no worries about co-employment and other regulatory concerns, at lower costs than fixed headcounts.
Results
Because PSS is a co-employment compliant program, our PSS employees can be on-site as long as the business need exists. We posted the positions, interviewed the current temporary employees, as well as external candidates. PSS transitioned all temporary employees and filled the remaining openings. The client was able to maximize output from their own full-time employees as they were no longer responsible for hiring, training, and managing temporary resources.
And after the new candidates’ first quarter of service, the client asked for an increase in scope, including mid to experienced level employees with specialized skill sets. PSS employees were trusted with substantial projects, and the Client shared feedback that PSS employees were “superstars.” The client wanted to know our “secret” and was so impressed, they hired some of our PSS employees. We have continued to expand this strategic partnership supporting the client’s additional locations and technical areas globally.
