Skin sensitisers, skin irritants and corrosive substances in textile

3rd September 2018 is the deadline to send evidences about the public consultation of Skin sensitising, irritative and/or corrosive substances in textile and leather articles, hides and furs that was launched by ECHA (European Chemicals Agency).
Swedish and French Competent Authorities are jointly preparing an Annex XV restriction dossier according to article 69 of REACH.
Interested parties are invited to submit any information related to these substances to assist in the preparation of the dossier.

 Eurofins Textile Intention of restriction for TCEP, TCPP and TDCP

Intention of restriction for TCEP, TCPP and TDCP

ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) has published the intention to restrict the following organophosphate flame retardants in childcare articles and residential upholstered furniture. Mattresses for adults and other textiles may be included too.
 
Tris(2-chloroethyl) phosphate (TCEP) (EC 204-118-5)
Tris(2-chloro-1-methylethyl) phosphate (TCPP)  (EC 237-158-7)
Tris[2-chloro-1-(chloromethyl)ethyl] phosphate (TDCP) (EC 237-159-2)
 
Expected date of submission will be on 12th April 2019.

California Proposition 65 is the ‘Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986’, which has been effective for almost 30 years. Due to the implement of California Proposition 65, more and more court cases are settled to reduce the exposure to carcinogenic and toxic for reproduction chemicals by reformulating consumer products containing such chemicals.
