Eurofins Textile & Footwear Testing Spain receives EU Notified Body accreditation for Personal Protective Equipment
Eurofins is pleased to announce that our Textile & Footwear Testing laboratory in Spain has been accredited by the European Commission as a Notified Body (2865) for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) certification, offering support to the market in an urgent and critical time.
According to ISO/IEC 17065:2012 requirements accredited by Entidad Nacional de Acreditación (ENAC), Eurofins Textile & Footwear Testing Spain can now issue CE Marking certification and ensure that the PPE products sold in the European market are compliant with Personal Protective Equipment Regulation (EU) 2016/425.
The PPE certification covers protective clothing, safety shoes and protective gloves designed for different levels of risk and protection, including harmful biological agents, mechanical risks, protection against heat or fire and static electricity among others.
This accreditation is timely, given the global shortage of PPE products amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
In addition to this newly accredited PPE certification, Eurofins’ wide service offering covers a scope spanning from product concept and risk assessment, Notified Body services, through chemical, biological, physical, mechanical or electrical testing, efficacy and performance evaluations and all the way down to product certification and quality controls.
