Flammability standards for residential upholstered furniture 2008 is withdrawn

 

On 16 September 2021, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a document which indicated that its proposed rule on flammability standards for residential upholstered furniture that was published March 4, 2008 in the Federal Register has been withdrawn. This rule is no longer active because it has been superseded by the COVID-19 Regulatory Relief and Work From Home Safety Act. The COVID-19 Act establishes the regulatory text of the California standard, TB 117-2013, as the mandatory federal flammability standard for upholstered furniture and sets forth the statutory requirements.
