New European VOC testing standard CEN/TS 16516 - now published

The new European VOC testing standard CEN/TS 16516 now was published by CEN. You can see that when searching for "16516" in the field "Standard reference" at CEN webpage: esearch.cen.eu/esearch.

The standard will be available via the national standard organizations, such as AFNOR, BSI, DIN etc. It may take some weeks before these organizations have the new version (October 2013) in their program (some of these only have the last draft of March 2013 in their listing - don't be confused and don't buy the old version!).

CEN/TS 16516 will become the "mother of all VOC emissions testing standards" for construction products in Europe within the next months and years. It will form the basis of VOC emissions testing for CE marking as soon as the criteria for CE marking have been specified in near future.

In August 2013, Eurofins Product Testing A/S was the first testing laboratory to achieve the ISO 17025 accreditation for testing in line with this new harmonized EuropeanVOC emission testing standard, CEN/TS 16516.
