More Safety for clothing storage units

On 27th February 2019, the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) published a letter about the safety of clothing storage units because of the numerous reported child fatalities between 2000 and 2017.

It is addressed to Manufacturers, Importers, Distributors, and Retailers of Clothing Storage Units urging them to make certain that the clothing storage units comply with the applicable current voluntary safety standards, including all referenced standards and requirements contained in ASTM F2057-17 “Safety Specification for Clothing Storage Units”, which was developed to reduce the risk of dangerous tip-over events (as long as the products are under the scope of this standard).
