Recent SCCS publications on Cosmetics
Following some recent publications of Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS):
Request for a scientific opinion on:
- SCCS - Request for a scientific Opinion on Hydroxyapatite (nano).
- SCCS - Request for a scientific Opinion on Copper (nano) and Colloidal Copper (nano).
- SCCS - Request for a scientific Opinion on hair dye Dihydroxyacetone (DHA) - Submission I.
Final opinion on cosmetic ingredients:
- SCCS - Final Opinion on hair dye 1,2,4-trihydroxybenzene (1,2,4-THB) - A33 (CAS 533-73-3) - Submission VI.
Preliminary opinions open for comments:
- SCCS - Preliminary Opinion open for comments on Hydroxypropyl p-phenylenediamine and its dihydrochloride salt (A165) (deadline for comments: 09 September 2019).
Final opinion for tattoo inks and permanent make up
On 19th June 2019, ECHA published Final opinion of the Committees for Risk Assessment (RAC) and Socio-economic Analysis (SEAC) to restrict substances in tattoo inks and permanent make up.

Update proposal to the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist
On 1st July 2019, Health Canada closed the consultation period about proposed changes to the Cosmetic Ingredient Hotlist. The proposal includes the following changes in the entries of prohibited and restricted ingredients:
