Foundation for Future Generations - SE'nSE Fund

Founded in 1998, the Foundation for Future Generations is the only Belgian foundation exclusively dedicated to the transition of society towards sustainable development.

The foundation operates on three pillars: "Think", to promote education, "Act", to promote entrepreneurship and innovation, and "Invest" to promote sustainable projects in different fields, such as environment, food, fair trade, energy, and construction.

Since 2019, the Eurofins Foundation has provided grants to the Seed Equity and Sustainable Entrepreneurship (SE'nSE) programme, an investment fund supporting start-ups with a large positive environmental impact. The Eurofins Foundation's contributions have facilitated increased support to innovative environmental start-ups, including the organisation of a national Belgian communication and information campaign. This campaign offers visibility to such start-ups by linking them with contacts, clients, and partners, and publicising positive examples of green entrepreneurship to the public.

In 2021/2022, the Eurofins Foundation renewed its support of the SE’nSE programme, enabling them to:

  • Provide loans to 4 innovative environmental start-ups;
  • Organise an annual communication campaign nationally, offering visibility to these start-ups. This visibility brings confidence to the businesses, and develops links with contacts, clients, and partners and publicises positive examples of green entrepreneurship to the general public;
  • Create networking opportunities for the laureates: through events, meetings, workshops, they are connected to CEOs, academics, investors - all key contacts for young entrepreneurs seeking to develop their projects
