Amidst a climate and pollution crisis, consumers are increasingly making environmentally conscious purchasing choices. This extends to the toy industry, where sustainability is already at the forefront of many business decisions as toy manufacturers progressively adopt the use of recycled plastics, reduce material use in products or packaging, and design toys that can be recycled at end of life.
However, developing a more sustainable product offering is not without its challenges. Whether that is maintaining regulatory compliance and chemical safety or determining the environmental impact of the production cycle.

After 5 years spent developing and commercializing bio-based plastics, Elizabeth joined Mattel in 2021 as a Senior Sustainability Engineer where she is responsible for the quality, safety and regulatory compliance aspects of Mattel’s sustainability journey. |
